History

Developed in San Diego, California in the 1960s, the concept of one price dry cleaning set the standard for the industry. Our founder, John Shelton, created an innovative system of setting up dry cleaners for his family and friends that they could operate as their own. Over the years, we have expanded to over 150 dry cleaners nationwide. In 1992, three generations of dry cleaners formed a partnership called All City Cleaners. We continue the business of investing in people by helping them own their own dry cleaning business.

Concept

Each dry cleaning plant is independently owned and operated as a sole proprietorship. All City Cleaners finds a location, secures the lease on the building, and installs state of the art, environmentally safe equipment. Once these logistics are in place, we select an operator based on his/her enthusiasm and desire to be a business owner.

Once the plant opens, the owner/operator receives extensive training in plant management. After an initial training period the owner/operator enters a two-year lease with an option to purchase. During the lease term careful attention is paid to the operating methods that have proven successful in one price dry cleaning.

Once the lease term is fulfilled, the owner/operator has the option to purchase the business and equipment. The purchase of the store will be financed, and the owner will operate his/her business based on valuable training experience and strong customer relations.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for people who have the strong desire to own their own business. You must be motivated, enthusiastic, and able to maintain a positive attitude. Running your own business is both mentally and physically challenging.

Since customer service is a priority in the dry cleaning business, you must be courteous and friendly. You must also be a strong leader, as you will be managing several employees.

Experience has proven that a dry cleaning plant is most successful when the owner is present. Therefore, you will be required to be on site during business hours (Monday-Saturday 7a.m.-7p.m.) for the duration of the lease term. We stress hands-on participation and many of these hours are spent on your feet.
